Nicole Kurtz is ready to call it a career.
She retires this summer as the Director of Education with the Kenora Catholic District School Board.
She says it’s been a real learning experience for her.
“Having that lens in senior leadership, it’s very different than being at the school level, so it’s been tremendous learning and growth,” Kurtz reflected on the last day of school.
She adds that being the Director of Education has been a real learning experience.
“What stands out for me, probably my own growth in the role and just building the partnerships with the community, including the Kenora District Services Board. You don’t realize until you’re in the role as director, how important community partners are. It’s an important part of the job.”
Kurtz has been a Superintendent of Education, a teacher, and a principal in the Catholic school system.
She officially retires at the end of August.
