A Kenora pastor has become TikTok famous.
Frank Kowal from Jubilee Church says it all stems from a good deed he did back in January.
A Punjabi truck driver was in an accident near Vermilion Bay and was stranded in Kenora.
Kowal says he offered a ride to the Winnipeg airport and as thanks the driver posted a TikTok video of his ordeal.
“This person really went out of the way to say thank-you and it’s pretty heart-warming and very much appreciated,” Kowal says.
“Not that I did anything great…it certainly wasn’t that, because I guess if you’re on the receiving side you see it differently.”
Kowal says the TikTok video is certainly gaining him a lot of international attention.
“For some reason his post went viral. I guess he struck a chord in the heart of his community about this old white man who helped him in his time of need.”
Kowal says the video has gone viral with as many as 500,000 views and he’s been inundated with friend requests from all over the world.
Here is just one sample of messages he has received:
“Hello Frank,
I came across a video of a gentleman sharing his experience of how you helped him after his accident, and I just wanted to reach out.
I don’t know you personally or that gentleman, but your kindness, generosity, and selflessness truly touched my heart. On behalf of the Punjabi/Sikh community and people around the world, thank you for embodying the spirit of compassion and humanity. Your actions are a reminder that goodness still thrives in this world.
I pray that God blesses you abundantly and that your kindness returns to you tenfold. Wishing you all the best 🙏🏽
