Officers have arrested 31 individuals on outstanding warrants in the City of Thunder Bay.
This comes as the OPP continues its ‘Operation Return’ – a campaign designed to arrest individuals wanted on outstanding charges and believed to be living in communities across northwestern Ontario.
In collaboration with the Thunder Bay Police Service and the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, a two-day blitz took place last week and 31 people were arrested on warrants ranging from violent offences, drug, property or bail violations.
Operation Return is another reminder of how police services across the region can work collaboratively to achieve positive results for the community,” says Detective Inspector with the Thunder Bay Police Service, Jeremy Pearson.
“Criminal activity has no borders. Crime within the City of Thunder Bay can have serious impacts on surrounding communities and vice-versa, which is why these kinds of collaborations are so important.”
To date, Operation Return has arrested 99 individuals and will continue in the region, as police place a high priority on community and public safety.
Previous arrest blitzes have included 16 people in the Greenstone area, another 6 in Marathon and 41 in the Fort Frances and Rainy River region.
