A motel has been found for Kenora homeless population as cold weather starts to set in.
The Kenora District Services Board says it has signed a two-year lease with the Waterview Inn.
The motel is located in Norman on Lakeview Drive and has 19 units.
The KDSB is working for the All Nations Health Partners and says the motel will address concerns such as extreme heat or cold, COVID-19 isolation, homelessness and displacement due to the impacts of COVID-19.
Last month, the city was challenged to come up with a plan to help out our vulnerable population this winter, many who were living in tents during the summer.
