Kenora’s Cooper Hatfield continues to shine early into his sophomore MJHL campaign.
The former U-18 Thistles netminder currently holds a record of 4-0 through four starts, with a 1.50 goals against average and a save percentage of 0.944.
Those numbers have him tied for the league lead in wins and third in both goals against and save percentage.
Last year, the 18-year-old finished with a record of 18-15 over 42 games played with a goals against average of 3.35 and a 0.912 save percentage. He was a finalist for the MJHL’s Goalie of the Year award and was named to the 2019/2020 MJHL All-Rookie All-Star team.
His Winnipeg Blues currently lead the Manitoba junior league with a record of five wins and one shootout loss.
Hatfield is one of eight former U-18 Kenora Thistles playing in the MJHL this season.
