The Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation has launched a new version of its popular 50/50 cash draw, offering larger prizes, improved ticket value, and simplified deadlines to boost participation and community impact.
The upgraded draw, which went live June 30, builds on the success of previous campaigns that have awarded nearly $2 million in prizes since 2020.
“Our supporters have helped us grow this 50/50 into something truly impactful for our community,” said Mira Trebilcock, executive director of the foundation. “We’re excited for them to experience new and exciting ways to win, all while supporting the biggest winner of all — healthcare close to home.”
Funds raised through the draw have already contributed to major hospital upgrades. A new chemistry analyzer, funded in part by the 50/50 and a donation from the FDC Foundation, was recently installed to help medical staff quickly analyze patient samples.
Proceeds from the February to April draw supported the foundation’s “Beyond the Scan” campaign, which is funding a new Diagnostic Imaging Centre of Excellence. The centre will include Kenora’s first MRI, a new CT scanner, advanced mammography equipment, and other critical tools. Most recently, spring draw proceeds helped purchase five new vital signs monitors.
The summer draw runs until August 28 at 11:59 p.m. CST, with the grand prize draw scheduled for August 29 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are available online at www.lwdhf5050.ca.
