Matawa First Nations Management has a new CEO.
Its board has announced the appointment of Dr. Sharon L. Nate.
Dr. Nate is replacing former CEO David Paul Achneepineskum, who is entering semi-retirement after serving in the role for 25 years.
“My beginnings in Eabametoong First Nation and working closely with the community helped me understand the unique needs of our youth and families,” said Dr. Nate. “That foundation guided my path in Education and has given me the insight to now apply this knowledge across all departments within Matawa. While there’s always room to grow, there is so much to celebrate—and I look forward to building on our successes together.”
Dr. Nate was previously serving as the executive director of education with Matawa education.
