The RCMP is releasing more details into a collision which closed parts of Highway 1 near Prawda late last month – and they say it involved two on-duty Winnipeg Police officers.
The Manitoba RCMP is continuing to investigate the collision.
Police say on January 31 at roughly 5:30 p.m., Steinbach and Falcon Lake RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 1 near Prawda, in the Reynolds, MB area.
The RCMP says a 22-year-old male from Alberta was driving westbound, when a second vehicle entered the highway from a parked position, resulting in the collision.
The Alberta driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Occupants of the second vehicle – which contained two on-duty Winnipeg Police Service Officers – also received medical treatment and were released.
The collision has been reported to Manitoba’s Independent Investigations Unit.
