Two men will share the armband for Valour F.C. when the 2020 Canadian Premier League season gets underway.
The club has announced that midfielders Dylan Carreiro and Daryl Fordyce will share the responsibility of being team captain.
Carreiro is going in to his second season with the Winnipeg-based side, and was Valour’s first-round pick (second overall) in the 2018 CPL U-Sports Draft. The 25-year-old from Winnipeg played professional soccer for parts of two seasons in Scotland to start his career before heading to York University.
33-year-old Daryl Fordyce joins Valour F.C. from the top flite of Irish soccer having spent the 2019 season with the Sligo Rovers. Fordyce made 12 appearances for the Northern Ireland U21 National Team between 2006-2008, and spent parts of four seasons with F.C. Edmonton.
There is still no word on when the 2020 Canadian Premier League season will start, or where it will be played.
We have named @DylanCarreiroo and @DarylFordyce captains for the 2020 season.
